Dr Lessa is currently a Junior Research Fellow, St Anne’s College, University of Oxford, and Post-Doctoral Research Officer and Associated Teaching Staff at the Latin American Centre, University of Oxford. She holds a PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics. Her PhD Thesis was entitled “The Missing Memory of Transitional Justice: How Argentina and Uruguay confronted past evils, 1983-2009” and a book taken from the thesis will be published by Palgrave Macmillan in April 2013 with the title of Memory and Transitional Justice in Argentina and Uruguay: Against Impunity. She also holds a Master of Arts in International Studies and Diplomacy (Distinction) from the School of Oriental and African Studies from the University of London and a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies (2:1) from Royal Holloway, University of London. She has written extensively on Uruguay, Human Rights, and Transitional Justice. Dr Lessa will be able to assist on cases from May 2013.
